In April I was invited to photograph a Georgia Grown Event held in Metter GA.
Metter is home to the Georgia Grown Innovation Center which was created to help support small agribusiness owners. It partners with Georgia Grown and Georgia Southern University, and together they help these small businesses thrive!
In April the Department of Agriculture Commissioner Mr. Gary Black came to meet and talk and even sample products with these hardworking small business owners.
Lots of partners from Georgia Southern, and the town's mayor Mr. Boyd along with others joined those at the Georgia Grown Innovation Center to make a day out of it!

Also if you haven't checked out the TV show 'Fork in the Road' I suggest you give it a look! It explores the agriculture and cuisine of Georgia Grown members throughout the state of Georgia. You will see towns like Savannah and Atlanta showcased on the show however the majority of the show will focus on smaller towns like Statesboro and Metter. Some of these small businesses you see in the photographs below are highlighted on the show!
Check it out and support small, support local and support Georgia grown!
